Two Newbury Park residents were arrested after an attempted robbery at a Thousand Oaks bookstore, authorities said Tuesday.
Thousand Oaks police said a patron was sitting inside the Barnes & Noble bookstore at 160 Promenade Way about 2:30 p.m. Friday when someone grabbed her purse and started to flee. The woman hung on to her purse, and the person ran out of the store empty-handed before jumping into a waiting car, police said.
Numerous people called 911, and police arrested Krista Claxton, 24, a few hours later, authorities said. Chadwick Fontana, 25, was arrested Saturday, police said.
