Police: Two teens suffer gunshot wounds at Detroit fireworks, one self-inflicted
Law News Add commentsPolice say two teenagers were shot at the annual Target Fireworks show over the Detroit River.
Police Sgt. Eren Stephens tells The Detroit News a 14-year-old boy suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 10:10 p.m. on Monday.
The Detroit Free Press reports a 16-year-old girl also was shot in the leg.
Both were being treated at separate Detroit hospitals.
Early indications are the two didn’t know each other.
More than 10,000 fireworks were launched beginning shortly after 10 p.m. from three barges in the river between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
